Valencia Weekend: Arts and Culture Fests!
Buen Finde! The city is packed with arts and culture outdoor festivals this Valencia weekend, especially in Turia Park, the Botanical Gardens and Jardines Viveros. Music & Performance
The Deleste Festival opens its 2026 edition at Jardines Viveros from Friday to Sunday, with Röyksopp and Primal Scream among the headline acts. One of the first major outdoor summer music festivals on the city calendar, it runs across three days in the gardens in La Saïdia. Tickets are required — book ahead. Deleste Festival
La Rambleta has a strong weekend in San Marcelino. On Saturday, Latin-Grammy nominated salsa band Plena 79 headline the venue’s live salsa night; on Sunday, Cuban jazz percussionist Jay Kelo brings his latin-groove quintet. Tickets required for both. La Rambleta
The Fronteras festival at Les Arts runs from Friday through the end of the month, with talks, workshops, and concerts — many in Spanish, but some concerts feature Berklee Valencia performers. Free entry, first come first served, until capacity is reached. Fronteras at Les Arts
The Palau de la Música hosts a free concert of rondallas — traditional Valencian stringed instrument ensembles — on Saturday. Free entry until capacity is reached. A good introduction to a musical tradition that doesn’t get much attention outside the city. Palau de la Música
Festivals & Outdoors
The Fira Alternativa runs Friday to Sunday in Turia Park, between Pont de Flores and Pont de l’Exposició in the Alameda stretch. Valencia’s annual alternative fair brings together stalls focused on sustainable living and social activism. Free to attend. Fira Alternativa
Oceanfest, the Oceanogràfic’s annual celebration of marine life, ends on Sunday. The programme running across the city includes workshops, concerts, and screenings — most are free, but check the website ahead as some events require reservations. Oceanfest

Visual Art & Exhibitions
IVAM opens a new exhibition of work by photographer and artist Cristina de Middel, Apoteosis Now, with a public talk between the artist and curator Iván de la Nuez on Friday evening. Free until capacity is reached, with cocktails included. IVAM — Apoteosis Now
Film & Screen
Docs Valencia, the city’s documentary festival, closes on Sunday. Screenings are showing across various venues citywide and are in original version with Spanish subtitles (VOSE). Among the titles still showing is Miss Jobson — an intimate portrait of the close friend and lawyer to Bob Marley. Talks & Learning
VLC Negra, Valencia’s crime fiction festival dedicated this year to Agatha Christie, also ends on Sunday. Most sessions are in Spanish, but the closing ceremony on Sunday — where local authors sign books for readers. Free to attend. VLC Negra
The Botanical Garden hosts the Bones Herbes festival across Saturday and Sunday, with workshops, guided tours, and activities exploring the many uses of local herbs and plants. Valencia has two English-language literary open mics this week and next. Tonight, Club Hemingway holds its long-running open mic at Radio City in El Carmen — book ahead to secure a seat, or drop in to listen. The following Thursday, 28 May, Writers’ Open Mic comes to Book Lovers’ new El Carmen location, hosted by Alexey Timbul. Limited places for both — if you want to read at the Book Lovers event, notify the organisers in advance.

Two theatre events from the community stage this weekend and next: VLC Playground‘s run of Beyond Therapy — an absurdist comedy at La Màquina in Extramurs — closes this Sunday, with matinee tickets still available. On Wednesday 27 May, the English Theatre Valencia hosts an interactive play reading of Everybody by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins at Ubik Café in Ruzafa. There’s a €5 reservation fee and places are limited — sign up via Meetup.

Russafart — Fri 5–Sun 7 June, Ruzafa. Ruzafa’s annual open studios weekend, with galleries and workshops across the neighbourhood opening to visitors. Talks, exhibitions, and workshops across three days. Free.
Corpus Christi — Sat 6–Sun 7 June, Plaza Virgen, Ciutat Vella. Valencia’s Corpus Christi festival brings processions, giant figurines, and traditional dances to the historic centre. The procession through Carrer Avellanes — when residents douse participants with buckets of water — is a favourite. Free.
Premier Padel Valencia — from Sat 6 June, Fonteta San Lluís, Quatre Carreres. The Premier Padel tour arrives in Valencia for a nine-day tournament with top-ranked players. Tickets required.
