Buen Finde! This Valencia weekend closes out the Feria de Julio with the Batalla de las Flores, the century-old flower fight that turns the Alameda into a carpet of carnations. Beyond the grand finale, the weekend runs the gamut — a stadium-sized electronic festival debut, a dance gala bringing Valencian talent home from Europe’s biggest stages, and one last taste of Requena wine country before the month winds down.
Festivals & Holidays
Batalla de las Flores. Valencia’s Great July Fair reaches its finale on Sunday at 8pm, when around 30 flower-covered floats parade the Paseo de la Alameda between Puente del Real and Plaza de Zaragoza, and thousands of carnations fly between the floats and the crowd. The tradition dates to 1891 and remains one of the city’s most-loved fiestas. Watching from the street is free; the numbered grandstand seats along the route require a separate ticket sold through official channels.

V Gala de Dansa Internacional Valenciana. Twenty-five Valencian dancers now performing with major companies across Europe return home for this fifth-edition gala at La Rambleta on Sunday — a 90-minute program spanning classical repertoire to contemporary work.

Peligro Fest. Estadi Ciutat de València — Levante UD’s home ground — hosts the debut edition of Peligro Fest on Saturday, 5pm to 1:30am, headlined by Martin Garrix, Marshmello, Korolova, and Nome. Organisers expect around 15,000 people for what’s pitched as a one-day international electronic festival. London Afrobeat Collective. Eight musicians united by a shared love of afrobeat play 16 Toneladas on Thursday, one of a run of shows before the venue’s August break.

Domèstica — JARR. MuVIM’s Sala Parpalló is showing JARR’s new exhibition through October, using knotted thread, torn fabric, and paint to explore memory and domestic life. Free entry. Fiesta del Vino de Requena. L’Umbracle at the Ciutat de les Arts hosts Requena’s wine and gastronomy showcase on Thursday — more than 40 bodegas pouring wines and cavas from the Utiel-Requena region, plus food stalls and music. Includes four drink tastings; food is paid separately at the stands.

Jardins al Palau — closing weekend. The Palau de la Música’s outdoor cinema cycle, a mix of classics and recent releases in original version with subtitles, wraps its run this weekend after opening in late June.
