Buen finde! The temperature is dropping but the sun is still shining with plenty of activities across the city. Here’s your guide to weekend events across Valencia

Two quick reminders for Sunday:

  • Clocks go back. At 3:00am, clocks fall back to 2:00am, so you get an extra hour in bed.
  • Valencia Half Marathon. The race starts at 8:30am and runs from the Marina to the city center. Expect major traffic diversions and road closures through the morning, so plan ahead if you’re driving or taking a bus.

Music

Renaissance Festival, Monasterio de San Miguel de los Reyes, October 22-25. Music concerts every day, and a chance to hear classical music inside one of Valencia’s historic gems. Entrance is free, but you need to book in advance by filling out a form.

Jardí Electronic at Parc Malilla, Saturday. Prices are up this year, but it’s still good value for scoping out Valencia’s up-and-coming electronic acts in an outdoor festival setting.

16 Toneladas has a packed weekend of American rock and British R&B with Crocodiles, Si Cranstoun, and Elles Bailey.

The Lemon Twigs. The American pop-rock duo of brothers Brian and Michael D’Addario are known for their vintage 60s and 70s style delivered with energetic panache. At La Rambleta on Sunday night.

Food

Cuina Oberta is back next month! Menus and reservations open Monday. It’s a chance to dine at some of the city’s finest establishments for fixed-price menus, including some Michelin-starred venues. But book early if you have your heart set on a particular place.

MarisGalicia at the Antigua Estación del Grau. Seafood lovers can sit down at picnic tables for fresh scallops, shrimp, lobster and octopus. It’s part of the annual festival celebrating the seafood bounty of Galicia

Dance and Theater

Les Ballets Espagnols, Les Arts, October 23 and 24. The company resurrects the flamenco-influenced dance form born in 1920s Paris. Performed in the Main Hall of the Reina Sofia Opera House.

El judici a Carlos Mazón que mai voràs. A unique piece, part political theatre, part documentary, channeling the frustrations of Valencians still seeking justice after the October 2024 DANA floods. It imagines what the trial of Carlos Mazón, the former Generalitat president in charge of the emergency response, might look like. In Valencian, but worth a look for anyone interested in local political theatre. Valencia Plaza has a review of the production.
