? Fallas Festivities

Despite the rain, Valencia’s Fallas spirit remains strong! Mascletàs continued throughout the weekend, though the Parade of Ninots was rescheduled.
? Las Provincias has more on the first Fallas weekend.

This year’s “Fallas of Solidarity” will support victims of the October flood disaster. A large falla marking the event will be constructed in Paiporta, one of the hardest-hit areas.

?? Political Protest & Court Investigation

On Saturday, thousands gathered for the fifth mass demonstration demanding the resignation of Generalitat President Carlos Mazón over his handling of the October floods.

Meanwhile, the Catarroja court’s investigation into the flood-related deaths is increasing pressure on Mazón. The inquiry focuses on who should be held responsible for failing to alert the public in time.

?? Weather Warning

?? Aemet has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain and wind in Valencia and Castellón on Monday and Tuesday. Residents are advised to use extreme caution when traveling.

? Crime & Public Safety

  • Nacho Vidal, the Spanish porn actor and producer, was arrested near Xuquer Plaza for trafficking in “pink cocaine.” Vidal has a history of legal trouble, including manslaughter charges after a photographer died from toad venom at his home.

  • Police arrested a man who claimed to be part of a terrorist group and threatened attacks on local schools. The suspect, who sent threats by email, was quickly identified and several schools were evacuated as a precaution.
