Christmas in Valencia wouldn’t be complete without the magical arrival of the Three Kings or Three Wise Men on January 5. The next day, January 6, marks the main day for exchanging gifts in Spain, making it a highly anticipated celebration, especially for children.
In Valencia, the festivities begin with a reenactment of the Three Kings’ journey to visit the baby Jesus. True to local tradition, the Kings arrive dramatically by boat at the Marina, followed by a grand parade through the city center. The parade features elaborate floats, a vibrant atmosphere, and plenty of candy tossed to delighted children along the route.
At Plaza del Ayuntamiento, the Kings pause at the nativity scene before entering the Ayuntamiento building, where they meet with children. This year, in a heartwarming gesture, the Three Kings will also visit children in flood-affected areas on the morning of January 6, spreading joy to those who need it most.
