Valencia Weekend | Night of the Museums

Buen Finde! Plenty of options for culture lovers this Valencia weekend. International Museum Day kicks off with a month-long citywide program with extended evening hours. DocsValencia also opens along with the popular, 10 Sentidos, music and arts festival.

A note on our WhatsApp: We’re moving to a cleaner setup — a Channel and Broadcast List — to cut out spam and keep your number private. If you’d like to keep receiving Pont de València updates directly on WhatsApp, send us a message before Sunday 24 May. The chat groups Meet Ups & Socials and Ask the Community will also stay open for now.

International Museum Day

Officially 18 May is celebration day, but Valencia is running it’s program from Friday, 15 May through the end of the month. Participating museums across the city are hosting special events with some guided tours requiring advance booking. On Saturday, 16 May here will also be special evening hours for iconic sites like La Llotja, the Silk Exchange. Bellas Artes has a series of concerts in its courtyard as part of the program. See Visit Valencia for the full list of venues and events.

Art Festivals & Events

10 Sentidos, Valencia’s arts festival centred on environmental themes, is running now through 26 May with events citywide covering music, dance, theatre, and installation. The programme is largely in Spanish, but a number of international artists are featured — including Norwegian visual artist and choreographer Helle Siljeholm, whose installation at the Albufera doesn’t require any language at all. Some events are free; others are ticketed. Check the website for the full schedule.

The programme is predominantly in Spanish and Valencian, but the festival includes a substantial international selection — several titles in English — and all screenings are VOSE (original version with Spanish subtitles).
