We Were There: All Over the Place Debuts in Ruzafa
Last Friday, Atika and I were invited to the debut of All Over the Place: The Show, a live English-language show hosted by Alexey Timbul at Acting in English, right in the heart of Ruzafa. The episode featured different guests — and this first one was an entertaining, well-woven mix of stand-up comedy, Valencia history and culture, live music, and read-aloud fiction.
It was a format unlike anything else in the city’s English-speaking scene, and if the first episode is anything to go by, consider this one on your radar.
The highlight for us? Atika was interviewed by Alexey on stage as one of the evening’s guests, representing Pont de Valencia. It was a conversation that touched on Valencia’s growing international community and what it means to build something here as an outsider — themes that sit very close to what Pont de Valencia is all about.
Being invited to be part of this first episode felt significant. Pont de Valencia started as a way to help people find their footing in this city — the places, the culture, the community. The fact that we’re now being welcomed into spaces like this, as guests and as storytellers, tells us that the project is becoming part of the fabric of Valencia’s international community. That means a lot to us.
A big thank you to Alexey for the invitation and for trusting Pont de Valencia to be part of this first chapter.
