Valencia Weekend: March 13-15 | Fallas Final Stretch
Buen Finde! The rain clouds are finally clearing. AEMET is forecasting this Friday as one of the best weather days of Fallas, with only a possible spot of rain on Sunday. Cautious optimism is in order — but keep an eye on updates.
Fallas at a Glance
- Drone show at Roig Arena — Free! 350 drones light up the sky. Friday March 13 at 00:15 (late night), Saturday, March 14 at 19:30 and 23:00. Calle Ángel Villena, Acceso C2.
- Ninot Exhibition — Final weekend at the Museu de les Ciències. Both Saturday and Sunday close early at 3 pm. Sunday March 15 is the absolute last day to vote for your favorite.
- La Plantà begins Sunday — best time to walk the city and watch the ninots go up
- La Ofrenda begins Tuesday at 3 pm — hundreds of falleros gather at Plaza de la Virgen for this floral tribute, continuing late into Wednesday night
- Nit de Foc — the penultimate fireworks display in Turia Park on Wednesday
- La Crema — the fiery finale in Plaza Ayuntamiento on Thursday, March 19. Public holiday — markets will be closed.

It’s a strong weekend for British indie: The Wave Pictures (indie-rock trio) play 16 Toneladas, while China Crisis (new wave/synth duo) take the stage at Loco Club.
Jimmy Glass in El Carmen closes out its winter concert cycle with the Bonilla/Sipiagin NY Brass Quintet. In Cabanyal, meanwhile, Burning House is bringing a Cuban jazz with a Buena Vista Social Club feel. And for serious jazz aficionados, Centro Excursionista hosts a Tuesday session for musicians in the know.
Friday is also your last chance to catch Handel’s Julius Caesar at Les Arts — before the iconic building becomes the backdrop for Fallas fireworks.

- EMT buses also run all night with route changes from Monday, March 16.

Ever wondered where the blue-checkered Fallas scarf comes from? The answer is surprising: India. The fabric was originally printed on cotton or wool in red and black floral patterns, adopted in Spain in the early 19th century by farmers to protect their necks from the sun and dust, and eventually became synonymous with Valencia’s agricultural roots and Fallas tradition.
