The Weekend Plan

This week, we are recommending La Almoina Museum. This old Roman city is beautifully preserved underground, with 2,500 square meters of discoveries laid out safely for young kids to wander through. Multimedia installations guide visitors through different historical periods, supported by clear maps and drawings that help make sense of the ruins. The subterranean city stays pleasantly cool year-round, making it an easy win for these windy days.
The museum is open from 10.00 to 19.00, and the entrance ticket costs 2 euros.
After that, we recommend you to head to Bassk, en C/ de Sant Vicent Màrtir, 20 for a cheesecake.
On the way there, take a moment to enjoy the kids’ play area that is across the Ale-Hop in Plaza de la Reina, fun for little and big ones. These experimental games are always fun to play with.
Now, I know there are many cheesecake places now in town, but none beat this one. Best cheesecake in town, taking after the traditional Basque Country recipe. It is not a cafe, so you basically take your piece and sit on a bench to enjoy it, and I think this is what makes it cool and relaxed. You can walk with it towards one of the many specialty coffee places in the area, and just keep it lowkey.
