What’s On This Weekend: Runners, Skaters & Food Fests
Buen finde! Valencia is basking in the late-summer sunshine, though there may be a bit of rain on Sunday, Aemet says. This weekend was supposed to bring the delayed Moros y Cristianos parade, but that’s now officially postponed until next year.
A quick reminder: early Sunday morning, clocks fall back one hour for daylight savings time — and it might be the last time Spain does this, if Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has his way, according to Valencia Extra.
Traffic & City Alerts
Plan ahead if you’re driving this weekend — much of Valencia’s city center will be affected by two major events:
- Saturday: Protesters will march through the city center demanding President Mazón’s resignation, marking one year since the catastrophic floods. Expect closures and delays around Plaza del Ayuntamiento. More from El PaÃs.
- Sunday: The Valencia Half Marathon will take over the streets from the port through the Turia and around the city center. It’s one of Europe’s fastest races — and a warm-up to December’s full marathon. Cheering Stations Map
