Thank you to everyone who filled out the survey!

The responses were thoughtful and encouraging — it means a lot to know that Pont de Valencia is making a real impact in the community. Here’s a quick summary of what was learned:

What you value most now
Local news updates, weekend events, and history & culture articles are the top reasons you visit Pont de Valencia. Many of you also rely on the WhatsApp alerts to stay on top of city-wide events.

How useful is Pont de Valencia?
Nearly everyone rated Pont de Valencia a 4 or 5 out of 5. Several readers mentioned the site and alerts help them discover events they wouldn’t have known about otherwise — and even led to new friendships (and in one case, a romance!).

What you’d like to see next
The most-requested features were:

  • Expanded event calendar
  • More in-depth local news
  • Guides and tips for living in Valencia
  • A community board, meet-ups, and more ways to connect with fellow residents
  • More kids and family activities

Several of you also noted that Spanish links behind paywalls can be frustrating, and suggested keeping the “once-a-week” news update format but with fewer, higher-quality stories.

Sustainability & support
Pont de Valencia is volunteer-run and free to use. Many of you said you’d be open to supporting it in the future, with the most popular options being:

  • A voluntary contribution of €1–€5 per month
  • A once-a-year contribution
  • A few also suggested sponsorships or a mix of free and subscription-based services

Coming soon to Pont de Valencia
Based on your feedback, here’s what I’ll be rolling out in the next few weeks:

  • Monday news digest: Top news stories in Valencia + what to watch for in the week ahead
  • Thursday highlights: Top weekend events + a featured place, event, or person in Valencia
  • Expanded events calendar: Music, art, sports, festivals, and holidays — all updated on the calendar page
  • WhatsApp alerts: Timely citywide updates, just as before

I’m also exploring new features such as a Community Listings Board while working on upgrading the Business Directory and Map

Also, stay tuned for the first Pont de Valencia meet-up — a chance to connect in person and brainstorm ways to keep this project sustainable. If you’d like to join or help organize, let me know!

Regular updates will resume on Monday, September 1st. Thank you for being part of the Pont De Valencia community!
