I’ve spent the day with an incredible army of volunteers working together to clear up after the disaster. It’s truly heartwarming to see the Valencia community coming together with such compassion.
But the high number of volunteers has been challenging for local authorities, as some areas are still waterlogged, and infrastructure may be at risk.
Here’s an update that was sent in for anyone wanting to volunteer:
Starting tomorrow, a new Volunteer Coordination Center will be open to help manage flood recovery efforts. Located on the ground floor of the Science Museum, the center will serve as a gathering and dispatch point for volunteers.
Fifty buses will depart daily from 7:00 am to transport volunteers to affected areas, with clear tasks and safety guidance provided for each group
